Hi there guys, I have just ordered my new lambda sensor for use with the TBs. The device in question is the Bosch motorsport LSM11 which I have been told is far superior to the standard Vauxhall sensor. Does anyone know how you wire the sensor in. I have a plug on my loom with four pins as well as the other end with open crimps to connect the wires from the lambda sensor to, but does anyone know which terminal is which. They are numbered 1 to 4. I assume two are for the heater, one is signal and one is a shielding wire but which is which. I cant see any colours on the loom as it is vacuum wrapped, any I don't want to cut it if possible. As the sensor is a Bosch one I assume the colours on it will be the standard Bosch ones. Also does anyone know how you enable the sensor with easymap (16Vastra you may be the man again for this ) There are various tables in easymap under the heading lambda control but all the data is blank at the moment. What do you put in to activate the sensor. I have bought the correct lambda socket to remove the old sensor, how easily does it come out. Is it generally OK or am I going to have a wrestling match.
Wire's are heater GND and 12V (connect to pump relay). Then there is Signal and Signal GND on the 4 wire sensors. DTA has a special Signal GND input, its seperated from all the other grounds.
Hopefully there will be a datasheet with the sensor to tell you pinouts. No idea for your loom though.
The ECU should have a table for the lambda sensor with voltage v's AFR (or lambda value). It is critical you have good source of this data, as it's is not linear output from the sensor. Hopefully Bosch can supply that.
Old sensors aren't too bad if you get a good grip on it.
Cheers mate. I got the new sensor today, I was quite impressed with the speed of the service from justlambda. The sensor does seem very good quality, far better than the OE one. The four wires on the sensor are grey, black and two white. I assume the two white are for the heater, but I am not sure about the other two. Also do any MBE users have any idea about the connections on the MBE loom, or know where I can find out. I would phone SBD, but I hear they are now charging for giving advice on the phone in 15min blocks, and my question will only take seconds to answer, so I am not keen.
I should be OK then Odders as I have spent 2200 notes at SBD. I have heard that they are good with genuine customers, but have a big problem with timewasters (i.e. the maxyP 17 year olds who want 200bhp mods for 50 quid), so I wasn't sure how they would respond to technical questions. I was worried they would just immediately start charging if you weren't ordering something. If you think it will be OK I might give it a go, or try sending an e-mail. Thanks again Chris, I thought that was what it was but it is good to get confirmation.
