I have noticed that my car has become hard to get going from s stand still.
For example when sat at a junction, if i try to pull off the car wants to die rather than just go. The situation is helped by just holding the revs higher and riding the clutch a bit.
Anyone know what this could be.
I have also found that the car drives better and faster when i un hook the battery and leave it off for a while. Fuel economy is also better.
Could a sensor be faulty which the ecu then does something to make it run worse. Clearing the ecu seems to help the problem of pulling off, but it dont last to long as i assume the ecu catches on to a fault quickly.
This might not sound relevent to you mate, but on my pug309, riding the clutch at high revs was the only way to get it moving whilst cold when I gave it too much or too little choke (it has a manual choke!) otherwise the carb would pop and the engine would die. Could be worth checking the equivalents on your engine, most likely to be fault in sensors or ECU's in the more modern ones. More complicated than they're worth if you ask me!
