I'm no expert in engine management but I am assuming that the Motronic on my 1990 20XE is a 3d map taking inputs from throttle and engine speed.
What I was wondering though is how many descrete throttle positions there are. Cos I was bombing down the 0ddballs nans private road on the way home from work at a constant 69 spoons, and when I tried to go marginally faster I could either go to 73mph but no where in between (unless this was a digi dash issue).
PS The above spoonage may be underestimated in the region of 20 spoons
Just as I had compossed a reply you sent that link which said what I had figured about getting the load value for the map. But if the AMM can (to the tolerance of the output signal) give a linear output, then can the ECU give a linear output to the injectors too (I'm aware its an opening timing). Or does it group the linear signal of the AMM into descrete approximations?
Also does anyone who has aftermarket managememnt where there are descrete throttle positions (like DTA is 14 as I recall), does that mean you can at times (maybe when town driving) feel each extra 'step'.
So lastly can someone tell me why I cannot get between 69-73 spoons
PS if this is all rubbish its cos I've just been at work for 13 hours and am a wee bit tired
