Hi i was hoping someone would be able to help me as the car has still got a lot to do to it.The engine in it was out of a Mk3 sport it is a 1.6 16V engine and now in an astra.All the wiring i have done using a couple of guides.does anyone know of any others apart from Valvers and corsa sport.What happens when we try and start it occasionally it will fire on its own but usually then dies after a couple of seconds.i was wondering if there should be anything in the two ends of the multiplugs.One has twelve male pins and the other one has more.The wiring that comes out of the ECU has a lot of wires going to it.Im not sure if it is for a diagnostic plug or something.Also what is the big red wire for with the white strip on it is that for the hot air manifold thing.
it is a 96 ish but hopefully before then.is there any stamp on the engine witht the date on it.It runs for a couple of secs then dies.it is deff to do with the wiring.What is the Big red/white cable for mate.Andy what could that multiplug be for then.As all off the wires come straight from the ECU and terminate in a smal square plug.
This has been happening for a while now.im starting to get pi$$ed off now.
When you say pick up,what do you mean mate?
Would it be the immobiliser that would control the Fuel injection?
As we are getting a pulse for the fuel pump.Would there be a stamped date anywhere on the engine or would i need to take the engine number down to Vauxhall to see if it had an immobiliser.I take it the transponder for the immobiliser is inside the ECU,if so has anyone had any experience with getting one from Vaux?
I am just off the phone to a mate who says VW have a check list they have to tick off,proof of ownership/V5 passport etc but they just tick them off and dont worry.
The only other thing is Sy@Novaheaven had the same running problems but Ste_sa went down and sorted them.
When i PMed him he said he did nt write anything down and cant remember.
If worse case scenario was immobiliser what options do i have?Throttle Bodies which i cant afford at the mo,anything else?
Anyone else have a ny ideas???
Yeah it does start and the stall but im not sure if it is for any other reason other than the injector relay isnt getting powered.Is that what the tan coloured thing is?
It is now fitted in an 87 astra.
The car we stripped the engine out of went to the car park in the sky about six months ago.
Do you know what the heavy Red/white cable is for?would i be right in thinking its for the hot air start up?
I havent fitted this,this would only make it idle slightly dodgy for a min or two am i right?
Gonna go down on tuesday and try and get this sorted as this has been bugging me for weeks now
