finally, after a lot of buggering about with other cars i have had the time to get the nova in the garage and get the troublesome LET out of it. which i have now done. a few things i have noticed so far :-
1 - i have a coscast head, had an inclin of this anyway due to some advice from another member
2 - the bores dont even have a lip on them, and i can see honing marks as if its not long been done already. another clue is that all the nuts and bolts are coming out with absolutely no trouble all, even the imfamous crank bolt gave no trouble at all. everything was doused in WD-40 though the nite before so i suppose that helped
3 - the valves in the head are black as hell and the exhaut ones especially seem burned out totally. the whole combustion chamber is blackened over. head soon to be tested/repaired anyway
4 - wastegate bush is shot to ****, wagglin about like a dogs tail and the penny valve seat has 2 large, rather unsettling cracks in it. the turbo itself seems fine with no end play in the shaft at all. blades all seem fine aswell with no chunks out them or any other damage.
ill post pics of bits an bobs to show what things are like and how its all going. no doubt ill be back askin "where does this bolt go guys" lol
so, where can i get the wastegate/penny valve seat repaired? how much will it be?
