Was finishing off fitting my water injection kit to my cally turbo on the weekend, I set it up so that it only sprays water on stages 2 - 5 but it then came to tapping the jet into my intercooler pipe (which are stainless steel) I used the tap that came with the kit but it is too big for the water jet. Just went round to quick fit and got them to weld up the hole, know I am a little worried because I do not want this to happen again.....................any help or ideas would be great!
It won't be 0.75mm regarding the tap size though!!
The tap may well be a BSP thread or similar. Start with the drilling a hole that is 1mm less than the outside dimension of the thread, and use the tap on that. If the outside of the thread is larger than 5mm go 1.5mm undersize, and tap that. This should be OK, but do they not supply a hole size for using the tap with?? It's odd that they supply a tap, and not a drill TBH.
Anyway, best to ask them what size really, if you can get an answer, use the above method.
