did cambelt and lifters yesturday, all went hunky dory, started car up last night, let it run for 30 minutes turned it off went to bed, went out today and went i went to put my foot down not alot happed till after 3500rpm, sort of had a kick up the arse at 4000prm and went like a rocket.
went i took the old belt off i lined the crank mark up and the mark on the pulley was about 10mm short(towards bulkhead) of the the marker even though the cams were in the correct postion.
when i timed it up yesturday i did the old long screwdriver dowm pot 1 to get the TDC, this work fine but when i checked it today the crank marker was a few mm forward of the marker so i re-timed it again so now it is perfect, but dosent feel like it did.
thinking of moving the crank marker back a few mm to see if the helps.
those markers on the pulley can be a bit deciving sometimes, it epends on where you look at them from, i.e above or to the side, might explain why the mark looks out of position, if you look in the haynes they sometimes tell you what angle you should view the pulley from
