can u get a pwr cap for a 1.816v ?
dont think so..(could be wrong)..i think your referring to the power cap to replace the SFI-box on the c20xe engine...your 1.8 is an ecotec which doesnt have one.
you already got one, where you think the design & idea for the sfi replacement came from?
well the xe powercap robs power for starters, but hey...
try TBs or a turbo for more power. other than that its the same as any other engine, zorst, manifold, cams, pistons etc
the ecotec ISNT more powerful, which answers all your questions really.Originally posted by greenlightracer
ok, so thats what makes the ecotec more powerful then ?
The 1.8 ecotec is a fine enough engine...i've got one in the viva (cheap insurance-only 21), the one i've got is the c18xe rather than the x18xe (125 bhp rather than 115)...it's doing me ok but i do want more, looking at it the simplest option is to change the engine...the ecotec will take far too much time and money before it returns the power...i'll eventually go for either a c20xe (150bhp) or a silky smooth c25xe (170ps)...the 20xe is a simple(ish) conversion needing the loom, engine, and maybe gearbox (I already use a F20), the block is the same as the ecotec so mounts etc should be the same. just an idea.
I've got power steering working using a saxo electric pump, useful idea for any of you 16v-24v corsa boys?
