can u just get a performance cambelt and pulleys without uprating the rest of the cam and if so does it make a difference to performance ?
I thoery you could yes. Cant see it making much of a difference though.
Vernier pulleys are used to optimise cam timing. For a standard cam I would have thought the manufactuers pulley and marks were optimum anyhow.
There are many good makes.
Im going for a Piper one myself for my engine rebuild on the Nova but Kent are also good to name a few. Phone about and ask, depends on what spec of engine you have and what you want from it.
get a kent kit myself the ast15k
comes with all new seals, followers, springs, lube, timing disc, and something else i can't remember. just to get the vernier wheel for it. th ecam should give 20 bhp on top of a stanard engine but as the head is heavily modded it should give a touch more all helps on my quest for 180bhp from a 2 ltr 8v
curiosity killed the cat...................but for a while i was a suspect!!
Vernier pulleys are useful for setting up even a standard cam, especially if lots of other engine mods have been done.
