what needs to be done to the front engine mount to be able to hold an x20xev? i know u can get the kits but 228quid for a kit of three when u only use that 1 is a bit far fetched, its only a bracket anyway, but ive never seen one so i couldnt copy it, any1 know what to do? does it need to lower/raise engine? dimensions etc. cheers!
corsa b by the way!
what places them then mate? its pvd who sell the kit at 228, cosvaux wanted 195 quid for the one mount, didnt really bother trying many other places though, 95 for the one mount or a kit? any more info would be gratefully received!
The XEV fits different to the XE so the kit actually comes with 3 mounts. A bodywork mount to fit in the chassis leg. An engine mount that fits into this, and a complete replacement rear gearbox mount.
well no it actually doesnt im afraid! my friend had the redtop xe engine in his nova, he bought the whole fitting kit from your company pvd for the xe, he later snapped the cambelt on that engine and purchased an xev lump and fitted it on exactly the same mounting kit! explain that one please?
The mounting kit we supply is different. If you are interested to know the reasons why then I will gladly speak to the manufacturer and get this information. The rear gearbox mount is indeed different. Althought the blocks use the same mounting points, the pulley arrangement is difference, which causes clearance issues, and I would assume that the differences are due to this.
