I have just started to get a slight rubbing noise from the gear box/diff/drive shaft area (Passenger side). Its not metallic clunking, although I am starting to feel a slight vibration through the peddals. Braking doesn't eliminate it.
It speed related, and only really noticable at less than 40mph (probably due to being able to hear the noise over the exhaust note!!).
It does it in gear and in neutral, hence I think it may be the inner CV.
Wheels have no give when wiggled side to side, trying to eliminate wheel bearings, no noise on full steering lock, trying to eliminate outer CV joints.
I put the car on stands, and had a good look and listen, slight rattle comming from the far end of the box (could be confusing the issue here), but its not the same noise as when being driven.
Bit stuck now, anything else I can try to determine what causing the noise?? with out resorting to visiting my local Griffin dealer?
