Here's another attempt at a cold air intake, the main issue being that it is as close to stock as possible.
Nothing is bent or cut.
This contraption just sticks on top of everything. No clearance problems as it is.
It faces forward at the tow-hook level (goes *through* the tow-hook actually, making it quite rigid. Some duck tape is needed to fill the gap afterwards lmao
I took the photos before painting it black, so it's clear how it all fits together.
You need a horizontal bend, a vertical one, the round-adaptor and cut some short lengths of pipe to connect the bits together.
It's very smooth inside, as everything is meant to connect to each other
It's all B&Q ducting, other DIY stores might stock them as well.
I found duck tape (original) to be the best way to keep everything together. Very strong, and flexible enough. Beats glues by a long margin in this application.
Dead easy to unistall and revert to the stock setup, just take the bumper off and pull it out.
Doesn't interfere with towing the car, either.
We'll see how it fares, when the car is ready.
