My mate reckons its easier to fit the clutch with the gearbox on, since when its off its harder to align it (aint read haynes yet so dont know whats involved).
Ive got to change the clutch and the gearbox this weekend. Would it be better to change the clutch whilst the box is on then change the box or take box off change clutch whilst box is off and then stick new box?
Im assuming this is gonna be a unbolt gear box and it'll drop off (after taking out drive rod thing) and the clutch will be the same, unbolt it then bolt the new one on.
The gearbox has been sitting outside for a 6 months, will it be okay just to fill with transmission fluid and start and drive or will I need to free it up or something first?
