Evening all. Can anyone solve my problem??? My car sarted out as a 1990 8 valve GTE. After a major engine strip down I've now fitted the rebuilt 16 Valve out of a 1989 GTE. Basically I'm getting no fuel through to the injection rail (this is at the diagnostic bleed valve at the end of the rail) What I have got is:
1) New fuel pump (not priming though)
2) New fuel pump relay (clicking when ignition is switched on)
3) Red ECU on dash is coming on
4) Injection fuse is OK
5) Plugs are sparking
6) Engine is turning over etc. etc.
If I run a live wire directly to the fuel pump it just whines erractly without stopping at all. But on disconnecting the hose on the output side of the pump there is fuel present. I'm all out of ideas' so any sugestions would be much appreciated. Thanx in advance.
That's a bloody good idea!! My mate did claim to see petrol coming out of the hose on the drivers side. He had a fag on the go when he noticed which I though was sensible of him. Perhaps it may start now!! Keep everything crossed. Thanx to Andy & Oddball
