Yesterday i decided to change my sump gaskets and do an oil change, anyway fitted new gaskets and built it all back up and refilled with oil but when I cmae to fire it up was still losing oil. Then i noticed I have a very small hairline crack on the corner of the sump and the oil appears to be escaping from there. when I cleaned sump out I must have cleaned this crack a little and now oil is coming out pretty rapid. Drove 10 miles to work this morningand just been out to my car and there is a large oil patch underneath and approx 2 litres less oil than when I set off.
Anyway to cut a long story short is there any way of fixing these sumps as a new one will take 2 weeks to arrive and it costs a hell of a lot to put 4 litres of oil a day in just to get to work and back?
Any advice appreciated.
