I've been researching supercharging, and have some info from a swedish company (enem(www.enem.se (in swedish only))) Here's some info, (tidied up emails) including pricing..... (SEK 25235 is approx 1550 GBP. I can't remember what rate Swedish VAT is)
I found your site, and it is exactly what I need!
I've got a C20XE in a Calibra, with Throttle bodies, running a MBE 967 ECU
ver5.2 and I'm wanting to supercharge it. I want to keep the throttle
bodies, and put the charger in front of them. I 'll also run an intercooler.
Do you sell the supercharger unit, intercooler, belt and pulleys which I'll
need for the conversion.
Do you have a generic ECU map which I could use?
Thanks in advance
Nice to hear you found some information on our site.
Keeping the throttle bodies and charge them will give you enormous problems
if you are going to use the car in traffic. As the charger will keep on
running also when the throttles are closed, you must fit a bypass to
evacuate the air - and you will get a terrible noise from that valve,
absolutely unacceptable on a road car.
Much better if you put a big single butterfly on the intake side of the
charger and throttle it that way.
I can sell you the Supercharger etc, the Pulley, tensioner etc is easiest to
take from a later Opel C20NE engine with the new belt transmission (6-rib
I have maps for Supercharged C20XE engines and MBE 967 ECU:s. Think it will
only require minor changes.
Thanks for the reply.
Would the bypass valve be the same thing as a dump valve in a turbocharged
I'm currently running a 1994 C20XE which has air-con, will this be a
Please could you give me prices for the supercharger, and mounting kit, and
ECU Map. What compression ratio will I need to be running, and what boost
levels will I be running.
Yes, it is the same principle. The noice is totally different from a
Supercharger compared to a turbo, the noice has another frequence and is
If you are runnning a -94 C20XE I guess you have the LN engine with the flat
poly-V belt. If so the price for a complete kit is SEK 23587 + VAT. The
older type is SEK 25235 + VAT. This is for the 2.0/16V engine, the XE
It normally runs 0,8 bar boost.
If you buy the kit i will include a file for the 967 free of charge.
Thanks for the information and the pricing.
What does the kit include, and if it doesn't include an intercooler, can I
add one later?
Would it help if I fitted low compression pistons?
The kit includes everything you need, also a special gasket that reduces the compression ratio down to 8:1.
There is no intercooleer included but I have a Customer who has produced parts which ca be used to install an intercooler. It is necessay to do some welding and it is all very tight. I don´t know the price for those parts.
Thanks for the info.
Do you have a graph of the torque and power of this kit?
No, no graph I can send straigt away. with 0.8 Bar boost it produces 215 hp and 290 Nm torque at 3500 rpm.
