Just curious as I am toying with the idea of getting my injectors cleaned as part of the general spring cleaning etc.
I don't have any specific problem ( AFAIK! ) with them, but seeing as they're probably 14 years old now and it seems fairly simple to take them out and get them done I'm wondering if it will eb worth it?
I read somewhere that Mike Warner's injectors were 25% down ( ?? ) on flow and wondered if this was unusually bad.
Any other experiences - what were your before/after flow rates and spray patterns like?
when i had mine done in 2001 flow was down 17% on 3 injectors, and down 33% on the 4th. One session in the cleaner got the 3 back up to factory spec, but the 4th was still about 17% down. Had two more sessions on its own. the car had done about 120k at that point.
I think those are the things described in Haynes as "retining clips".
I've not done it yet but it seems straight forward enough - I'm not sure if the pintle caps are metal on the M2.5 injectors. I read somewhere that they are but I might try and get some new ones anyway at the same time as the o-rings to save having the car off the road for longer than necessary
