Just got my throttle bodies through from SBD this week. The manifold was all tapped with connections for the brake servo and heater hose, and I also got them to do all the hacksawing etc. as I don't trust myself hacksawing £700 throttle bodies. They did do a really good job however (much better than I would have done) and I am quite impressed with them so far. The only problem was the bill (£2200 ).
I have got time off work for the end of next month for the fitting (1 1/2 week should be enough) and I am seeing a mate of mine next week who is going to help me fabricate mounts for my new coil, throttle cable, and see about remounting the alternator. I still need to get fuel hose and fittings, luckily I have second hand injectors taken care of (thanks Rob) which has saved me a bit there. By the way, anyone running SBD throttle bodies, what fuel are they mapped for. I know the groupN set up is 98RON only, but what about the TP164 set up. I plan to use 98RON anyway, but it would be nice to know if I could use 95 without destroying the engine, as none of my local garages stock 98.
yup. on the injectors i have just gotta get my cams etc in the engine and i am planning a quick day trip to cavvysri where i will get both the blues and my injectors cleaned etc.
i imagine it will be weekend after next, is that ok? if i am running behind i will post them, please remind me if you are coming to the time to fit the kit!!! it will take you 2 days mate
i put my timing forward 3 degrees at WOT to use 98 ron and it makes a noticable difference in pickup from 3500
