ok, after findin out that the car was running lean i turned down the boost and fitted a new filter and put in a blottle of that stp stuff, and now it runs 2 greens so i decided to turn it back up, get rid of the bleed valve(runs for cover for running a blled valve ) and refit the amal valve control back into it.
however, now i am gettin all sorts of strange readings on my boost gauge!!
as i mentioned before the car kinda holds back sometimes but still boosted fine to about 0.8bar (with bleed valve fitted). now with the amal valve back in it boosts ok sometimes and other times it wont go above 0.2/0.4 bar. so i am thinking that there is a problem somewhere and that ecu is cutting the boost back now when the problem appears whereas before it didnt have the control to do so.
one night i was out and gunning it a bit and when i selected 5th and put the foot down the thing hit a bar and bloody held it!!!(ecu light came on a bit up the revs) drove a few miles more and it wouldnt even go to 0.6 bar in any gear. sometimes it goes up to 0.6/0.8 bar and then falls back to about 0.4.
what im gettin at is that there is no "routine" to the boost that it produces and obviously this isnt good. i changed the amal valve about 11 months ago so it should be ok(no ecu light anyway)
what could be my boggle?
