Hopefully i'm swapping the engine in my car this weekend for a carbed 1.4 lump but fancy having a bit more power than just 72BHP
The plan is to get an XE engine later on this year but i want a bit more power now so the leap isn't too great.
I've investigated head/cam and the possibility of using twin carbs but have come to the conclusion that for my purposes the option of Nitrous Oxide is probably the most cost effective.
a: I don't scream around all the time it'd just be nice to have some extra power available when needed (*** in saxo or 1/4 mile days)
b: Most of it would be transferrable to the xe lump when i put one in.
I've done a bit of reading up on the subject but still have some questions that i could do with answering.
Firstly the guide i read says that although the jets supposedly determine the bhp output a 25bhp jet can be 16 BHP on one engine type and 70bhp on another. So has anybody used it on a smallblock carb engine and got any results?
second how would the system be installed on a carb engine? IE where would the solenoids go/where in the system would it be injected?
Last there are different kits for fuel injected cars and carbed cars anybody know what parts get changed as i'll obviously be wanting to do this in the future.
