Finally changed front crankshaft oil seal today (located in oil pump housing). Slight problem now - the timing mark for the bottom pulley is now well out. I havn't bent the needle on the back plate, put the buttom pulley on in the wrong position (you can't even if you wanted to anyway - 'muppetproof', I like that). So anyway, I gauged where TDC is now and tensioned the belt blah blah, start it up and the oil is pi$$in on the floor again.... mmmmm me thinks the oil pump gasket needs doin.
Am I right to suspect the gasket? And more to the point, how the hell has TDC drastically changed? Can't help thinking that the oil is leaking as a result of that happening.
If anyone has got any ideas, I'd appreciate some help.
