saw a programme on telly last night about this guy who was building a kit helicopter and on the exhaust he use wrap, but rather that painting the manifold he painted the wrap after it had been applied with the high temp paint, would this work just as well on car or is it still best to paint the manifold before hand?
just thinking out loud reallyas i want to get some soon, and he had the gienus idea of putting the wrap in a bucket of water before hand to stop the fibres comming out, i will most definatly remember that one
well you need to paint the manifold first, if its not protected. when i ran mine up for the first time, the paint melted (like it does) and then soaked into the wrap from the inside out, turned it silver. was a beige yellow at the start.
