dizzy caps 20xe
went to get a new cap but the leads wont fit on. (bosch leads) this new one is orange and the lead connection moulding parts are tapered, the old one is black and isnt tapered and is clearly wider to fit the boots on the leads.
wtf is going on there then? the new one is bosch from the autofactors, feck knows what the other is.

theres two types, one has a plain socket, other has socket and a pin in the centre. get the right one to match your leads.
-
they both have the pins in them, looked at them thought ok and walked the 2 miles home...to find the leads wouldnt stay on.
pretty fecking useless, i am gonna have to get leads to fit the smaller cap connections.
not that it matters cos the car just clicks at me when i go to start it anyway
also, have you ever tried to bump start a car by yourself? dont bother, almost had a coronary.
-
i think i had the same prob, but the replacement i bought was the terracotta colour, with a black plastic cover. the leads went on ok, but i had to butcher the plastic cover to fit the crappy motorfactor cap.
in future i will most likely get a proper bosch cap from vauxhall, using the engine number ranges to get correct part. can give you them if you want.
i managed to push start it once in my works car park, took me about 30 mins and i was like a horse after winning the grand national, i.e hyper ventilating but f-cking elated its all over.
