Simply power to weight or something else?

As Im a wheel short for my car, I went round to my mates to take his XE'd corsa B out for some abuse last night

Went down to local test track near me. couple of straight dual carriageways with roundabouts breaking them up.

Was accelerating down towards first roundabout, braked hard, into 2nd, turned into the roundabout and floored it (was doing a 180 to go back way I came) ; coming off the roundabout the wheels were spinning like fek and i was almost shocked.

Anyway, to cut a long story short, why did it do this?

If I do the same in my car and floor it in 2nd there is almost a delay, then the engine goes maybe abit of spin but nothing like in the corsa.

is this purely beacuse of the lack of weight in this car?

Mods to corsa are : zorst, filter, superchip (came with engine), no-cat and mantzel powercap.

Suspension geometry? Spring and damper set up?

For example when my Corsa was on the standard (past it's best) suspension it would wheel spin alot more than what it does now its got lowered/uprated springs and dampers.
