ive got those plugs and they are all conected up its just this 1 im not sure about.
i was told that my engine was an early 1 but ive got a lambada sensor.
how does your engine number start, that will tell if it is an early or late one... and what colours are the wires going into this connector. id say your best bets are to try starting it without it
i still havn`t checked the engine number yet.where abouts is it on the block?
odders ive emailed you the pic.
how long is the cable attatched to this plug ? It looks suspiciously like the reverse light connector that goes on the switch at the front of the gearbox.
on the gear box side, to the right of the dipstick on the face that faces you if you see what i mean? it should start C20XE or hopefully 20XE
the reverse light connector is connected up already, i marked up all the cables before i took my engine out.
the cable comes from the loom and comes out from just under the fuel rail and is about 3 inches long.
my radiator is in the way il have to take it out in the morning and have a look.
it does, but the ECU wouldnt need to knowabout that, and if there are no other connectors comming out of the loom to connect the other side of it up, then surely it cant be that? if its a late one, then dosent the ECU need to know the speed of the car, ie from the tranducer
thats the tank vent valve connector
the plug has a brown wire with a red stripe and a red wire with blue stripe.
everything is now wired up and im getting a spark and the fuel is in the rail and starter motor turning but it wont start.
is there a spark at the plugs?
if i were you i would take all the plugs out, and leave the fuel to evaporate, as it is probably flooded if you are having trouble starting.
Is it trying to fire? does it occasionally sound like its firing?
i have the same problem on my engine, if you find out will you let me kno ( firstname.lastname@example.org ) coz its really annoying. there is nothing anywhere neer that it could plug into.
p.s. does anyone kno which colour connector goes into the icv....is it red?
it's for the tank vent valve... like oddball said
