Looks like a standard pressure plate with the steel bodey replace with aluminium.

Guess it's the same spring tension, but a bit fragile I should think, aluminium.

Titanium would be perfect, but rather pricey.

you don't understand what i mean Oddball. I mean about the tension of plate. The Mark CDX, tell the tension of pressure plate of Insane Sweed are the same of the stock plate, because have the same "look", "aparency". Then, i said, the "aparency" cant tell if have the same tension. Because i bought a 1.200lb tension pressure plate, and have the same aparency of stock pressure plate.

    Understand me???

550lb is a lot of pressure to apply with ones foot.

must have a lot of weight behind it.

I can only manage 200lb, when standing on 1 leg.

550lb is the stock tension of stock pressure plate. Check it in GM mechanic, and you will see. Im not joking.

My actual pressure plate is 1.200lb

I would suggest he has used a standard plate to make that, and as the pressure is determined by the tensile strenght of the steel and it's thickness, it should be the same in a steel or aluminium body.

Aluminium will give more than steel though, if it isn't thick enough.

and remember, the tension of clutch, don't mean the "weight" that you need put in the pedal. Because clutch, have a system for multiplicate your moviment in pedal.

1200lbs clutch is very stiff, your left leg get lots of excersize, you walk round in circles because your left leg is bigger than the right.

i think, we mean diferent units.
lb is the same of "libras", in your units, maybe is the same of psi.
    1.200lb is around 80kg
    550lb is around 36kg

    Hi all..

hmm pressure.??? don´t have a clue..
But the 'spring' are from an Volvo Turbo plate that can cope with 800Nm torque with an 215mm clutch

i have reduced the diam to 200mm
but my torque will be FAR from 800Nm
at tops 400Nm when nitrous are going in.

    and by the matrial..
It´s an high quality ALU called 'Alumec' good enough to make conrods with.

So i think it will cope for the rpm´s and the stress..

    Cheers...

if you don´t use the newtonmeters in uk and rest of the world.

    an C20xe is rated 196Nm stock. (150hp)
    so 400Nm should be ~300hp

i´m aiming for 230hp at a higher rev than xe engine so the Nm will be a lower value but at a higher rev.

maybe with no nitrous I´ll have around 250Nm TOPS!!

    I´m just bladdering here..
    maybe you´ll understand
