    Wastegate/receculator

Im getting wastegate flutter different from the secondary dump valve. Ive blocked of the std recurculator and fitted a collins dump valve though a t- piece in the intet hose(as you would normally).Dump valve works fine. Although if I accelerate medium to hard then back off, still on the throttle a bit the wastegate flutters very loud. If I back of all together the dump valve will go off.Does anyone elses do this?I sounds great but is it right?

Nope nor me, sounds like your dump valve may have too much of a stiffer spring in it, i thought collins' valves were set to different stages. (maybe wrong though).
Life it seems..... Is not without a sense of irony.

So tom your saying that the spring is to harsh and not letting the pressure off quick enough. So the wastegate has a pressure build up behind it and this is the fluttering noise.

    Mine doesn't do it.

I'm sure I read some where that you should only use the Bailey EVo Piston Dump Valve on the C20LET. Could be wrong.

I bet it was the bloke who was seeling the Baileys dump valve that said omly his will work with LET's.lmao

The problem with dump valves on LET's is the air flow metering. On idol with single piston valves the engine sucks the valve open this allows air to be let in through the valve. The flow rates then dont match up and the ecu detects this.

With 'twin piston valves' its exactly what it says on the tin.The main valve is still sucked open on idol athough there is another smaller valve which has a spring which is strong enough to stay stut on idol but to weak to stay shut when excess boost pressure is released.

Any twin piston valve should do the job.I understand this its the fluttersing that I dont. I dont think that its a problem as it never happens when on full boost. Just thought id find out if anyone elses does this

I'm running the Bailey twin piston dump valve, I get flutter. always had it, a lot of people dont notice it because they are running std air boxes but if your running a cone filter etc you here it much more.

Hmm I get you Rob.Yes it has a cone filter only thing is that it didnt make this noise before the dv was fitted.Yes you could hear a slight dump but not a flutter.
I ran the car round the block without the recirculator blocked off it sound mint!Just wastegate flutter.I makes the same noise as that before the dv opens.

Interesting, this is exactlly what mine does, but as I blocked off the recirculator before I put the engine in I dont know if it would have sounded the same.

    Perhaps there is a problem......?
