I should soon have a couple of engines to replace what i have in my corsa.
one being a c14SE nova SRI engine complete, except loom
the other being a 16SE Nova GTE engine, complete.
I need to get an engine in my car as soon as possible, and due to insurance reasons, i cannot put the 1.6 in untill june at the earliest.
would it be possible to use the 1600 loom on the 1400 for now? i presume that i would have to use the correct ECU for the engine, but would i get away with using the same loom on both of them? are the two engines the same, except the bore size?
No you can't, the GTE uses Bosch L-Jetronic and the SRi uses GM Multec management, different types of sensors/different number of sensors and different ECU connectors. Just get yerself an SRi loom from a scrappy ?!?
The engines are quite different. The SRi shares its basis (I mean block/head/inlet/management) with the late GSi which was a C16SE.
