I need a new one of these because I have a cally one at the moment which obviously doesnt give the digidash a reading.
I just phoned Vauxhall and she tells me according to the epc it is a small 1 plug unit for £7+VAT.
Sounds fishy to me - on AutoVaux it appears to be over £20, and is quite a large chunky switch.
Can someone look it up on the epc and give me a part number, and if anyone knows the rough price that would also be magic.
Even a description of the unit would be helpful.
trouble is EPC doesnt show the dual switch/sender for gte16v, they are only listed under 2.0 8v and down. the part she quoted is just a pressure swtich like you already have. the one you need is pictured below and has a pressure failure switch and 5 bar pressure sender.
there are two switches depending on age, early is 90040918, late is 90337695 (left and right respectively on the image)
according to Gary, the only difference is later one has sureseal plug, early is just bare spades.
thanks guys - thats exactly what I needed.
cheers Giles, I had the Cally one just as a temporary measure.
Yeah, I couldnt find it myself in the epc, but thats the one, thanks again 0dders.
I have the sureseal plug one - cool.
only found out recently that the digi dash oil pressure guage does actually represent 1 BAR pressure for every yellow bar illuminated, its not very accurate for high rpm though just goes off the scale. Ive got a zero to 8 BAR sender sitting on my shelf waiting to be fitted.

does that sender work with a specific gauge you have bought?
hactually, I think I will leave the cally sender for the warning light, and purchase a decent 8bar gauge and sender, and another gauge probably oil temp, and install them both in the centre vents - marvelous
mine was from deamon tweaks originally, think it was 25 rubs. the switch/sender combo is 50 rubs. or go with autovaux at 20.
I suppose your guage reads full all the time like mine then, seems the sender has failed recently cause it doesnt move anymore. I presume if oil pressure fails, the five yellow bars stay lit and the red square flashes around the oil sign.
i really wanted everything working, either way you will need an adapter to run the aftermarket sender, or a T piece to run both. T piece is about a fiver from tweaks.
well, I was going to order some stuff from tweaks so I might aswell add that to the list.
I will peruse the catalogue later then.
Yeah, the gauge reads full permanently. The switch in there at the moment is from scotts cally turbo engine because when he put it in his astra he needed his old sender, so took it out of the XE and put the LET one in the XE. I then bought his XE.
