I had my Vectra 2.0 Ecotec turbocharged by Courtenay and would like to know if there is a DIY method of fooling the AFM in order to stop the ECU light coming on at full boost (although it will go out when you back-off but still registers a f/c). Courtenay say that this is caused because more air is drawn in than usual but will not effect performance as I'm running a piggyback ECU and 5th injector (Aquamist MF2 controller) for extra fuelling. I think this is the reason why it is so thirsty as I only get around 280miles of gentle driving using about 50litres of fuel. How about using the AFM from a Cally or MK4 Astra turbo will it work?
As for fitting one from an LET, they use the Bosch Hot wire which isn't compatable. As for the newer turbos I not sure. I think most of the ecotec's use simtec systems rather than Bosch. You could try noting down the part no's and manufacturer from your AFM, then contacting the manufacturer to see if they have a compatible unit with a higher airflow rating - worth a try
