Want to change the oil in my Gearbox. Does anyone know where the drain plug is (if there is one)? And which oil I need.
The car is a 1996 1.7 DT with the Isuzu motor in it. I drive 1100 miles a week to and from work and it needs doing soon as possible.
I don't believe any of the vauxhall g/box's have a drain plug
you have to drain them by loosening the diff cover on the bottom of the box (the plate with the bump in it) worth a look inside
while it's off as well to re fill take the level plug out that's
located between the drivers side (rhd) inner cv joint and the
rear g/box mount and fill it till it's just comeing out of the hole
auto transmission fluid (red oil) is the recommened stuff these days for a slick shift.
oil capacity depend's on wich box you are running
