18SE engines have them and they have the LE3 Jetronic system on them. Its for the ECU to know what the oil temp is. Must be something to do with the timing because if the wire is removed it starts pinking abit.Originally posted by InsaneSwede

itīs only connected to the little standalone ignitionsystem on 1.8e engine (early astra MkI and MkII)
it also uses an tempsensor/vaccumsensor(unsecure on that) in the inlet manifold.
and itīs an standard VDO sensor.
so it should be possible to connect it with an VDO analog meter..
It`s located in the main oil gallery below the alternator. The 20SER ( as most prob 20XE ) doesn`t have a oil temp sensor for the ECU it just has a allen key plug that can be removed.
