I'm probably going to RSR in Croydon tomorrow (if not maybe next week) to go and speak about/get fitted if they're not too busy a custom exhaust system for my Cavalier GSI (J Reg '91 2WD). At the moment (from previous owner) I have a Scorpion "Le mans" stainless steel backbox and added by me a Scorpion cat-replacement pipe, fitting this properly has caused me no end of hassle and it still isn't right even after a new gasket, new bolts and several hefty wacks with a hammer
Sooo, as a sort of xmas pressie to myself I've decided that I want a complete new (from down-pipe) stainless steel system. I would like a twin DTM backbox and a nice deep sound, not too loud, but a little bit throaty I've read that the 20XE is a little raspy (and I hear it every day too) can this be overcome without replacing the manifold ? I've read the standard one is pretty good anyway.
So I have a couple of questions. Anyone had any experiences of RSR in Croydon (a search on here came up with mixed answer's, good/bad) ? What diameter is the standard Cavalier GSI exhaust system, is it 2" ? What diameter should I go for ? Only other mod's are K & N air filter/cold air feed (from previous owner) which I was going to replace with an airbox anyway at some point.
Any advice would be great
