WHAT IS MEANT BY THE TEARM PORTED, DOES IT BASICALLY JUST MEAN CLEANING THE INLET AND OUTLETS FROM THE VALVES TO COMBUSTION CHAMBER ETC... I THOUGHT PORTING MEANT TO CREATE A HOLE TO INCREASE THE AMOUT OF AIR FUEL / RATIO.. CORRECT ME THO PLS I MAY BE CHATING SHITE... I AM SO GOD DAMN KEEN TO LEARN,,,,
Porting:
You work on both the inlet and outlet ports only.
Basic work is to 'match' the ports with the manifolds/gaskets. Quite easy to do, offer up a new gasket, mark the outline of it on the head and then grind away the metal till you meet the line. You then grind further into the port. But you can always go too mad and grind too much away and you open a coolant or oil way. This either means new head or welding = more cost.
