I know its a common fault with the X20XEV Vectras but has anyone come accross this problem with the Astra as yet? My Vauxhall dealer said this is the first manifold they have sold for the AstraG, might be due to my mileage (71k). Just out of interest.
Here we go
That will be the problem then
Thought id better get it sorted before our regional RR day next Saturday, so
Yes it is a standard one at the moment, cant really afford a performance one this close to christmas.
The warranty unfortunately run out earlier this year, it had been extended twice already and the fourth year was an obscene amount of money so I left it.
The manifold was £60, and I sort of needed it straight away. The only one Ive found so far for the AstraG with the X20XEV engine is a Lexmaul one which is £350!!!
I want to keep the CAT for MOT reasons and as its part of the down pipe some cutting and shutting will be required for a 4-2-1 manifold and at the moment I just wanted to get rid of the naffing annoying noise of it farting away.
Do you know of anywhere that I could get one made up for my car? Might look into it early next year.
Problem is on the later X20XEV (balancer shaft type) engines all the EGR system is internal to the cylinder head and exhaust manifold (bar the valve itself) so I think the ports are aligned differently and it willl make bypassing it difficult as the EGR shares the exhaust port on cyl 4.
You can sort of see the EGR port in this pic on the far right of the head, and then youve still got the CAT to mess about with. They dont like to make modding these new cars simple do they?
