    C20xe air flow meter question

I'm going to be changing the plug that goes on the air flow meter as the wires are split, think the wires are going to be to short to have the plug where it is now, at the front, what I want to no is if the wires are to short can I loosen the air flow meter and spin it around abit, so the plug is under it or behind it? And will it be ok to do that or does the plug have to be at the front how it is now

Orientation is not an issue... only the flow direction....

If you need spares, I recently discovered some Volvo cars use almost he same MAF sensor with exactly the same connector. Believe it was an older 950 or something...

    MASS AIRFLOW METER SENSOR MAF Volvo 240 740 760 440 460 1346645 0280212007 | eBay

Only real difference as far as I know is there is no blanking plate for the potentiometer, and the connection to the air filter box is with two little clips...

Ok thanks, I didn't think it would matter about spinning it round but wanted to be sure before I did it, hope that sorts my problem but might need a new air flow sensor, I have codes for high and low voltage but going to sort the wires out first

Re: C20xe air flow meter question

I wouldn't say completely without reservations, tried one yesterday that actually didn't work... Didn't damage anything either, but the fault light came on and at nearer inspection I saw the sensor element inside was shaped slightly different. It also doesn't have the blanking plate for the CO potentiometer.

I wouldn't be surprised they can be modified inside, and want to inspect that further.

The one that is originally on a C20XE has a Bosch number that ends on 015 and the one I tried yesterday is completely the same number only ending at 016. So beware!! The one I pulled from a Volvo before did work and was the same, but can't remember which model Volvo it was...

That is a five pin sensor instead of six right??

I'd contact the Ebay seller there, they claim they can almost certainly get you any MAF sensor you need....
