I've seen quite a few reviews where both surfaces have been cleaned up very well and still leaked

Theres a big difference between a surface that has been cleaned up vey well an 1 that is perfectly flat you could clean it so its spottless but if the block or head face arnt flat then it wont mateer what headgasket or bolt/studs you put on it

I was referring to heads and blocks which have been decked and skimmed not just a polish

The block will need to be decked, along with head being skimmed.

I'd just use a genuine one, with ARP stud and nut and a skimmed head.

My block was decked approx 600 miles ago head was skimmed it may need doing again if not I will leave it
I'm running or planning on running 450 -500 bhp and I doubt the standard gasket will be upto it

    63llb/ft seems a little low
Also been told the gasket needs dimples added to it around the water channels

If the cometic has failed it is either poor prep, inadequate torque or wrong application altogether.
There is another option..... available from steveboyslim

Why not just use the factory Zlet mls gasket.
I'm running one on my 20let with standard headbolts.
