gearbox whine

im currently running an F20 box and i have almost a straight cut sound(whine) in low revs in 1st and sum of the other gears. Only does it when there is no strain on the box ie crusing along.


any ideas peeps

Yes it's ****ed.

Change the box.

its sound under pressure tho only when i pull off really slowly mostly it had a bit too much g box oil in which i checked today so its at a nice level now ill have to look into changing it soon its a little quieter now but not by much

yeah mate mine sounded like a rally box then it popped on me not good

mine has been doing it for a few months, picked up a spare box before xmas as a stand by which i have reconditioned

i just paid 1400 for a new recon box (12000 mile warrenty) clutch and work for mot, makes you wonder if there bloody worth it lol.

yep but thats an f23 on my zaff gsi complete recon the box was 595 with 100 surcharge the rest was bits n bobs like clutch n repairs for mot n that.
