    Are you looking to fit Z18XE cams into an X20XEV engine or visa versa or into something entirely different?

    fitting the x20 in the z18 if its worth it, it seem that the x20 has a longer open time than the z18 cam ??

    Re: standard cams .....

    I would suggest that fitting a camshaft profile that's been designed for a 2.0 engine into a 1.8 litre engine isn't a great option first and foremost. Secondly it would be worth checking the cams for those engines are cross-compatible. I could be wrong, but I'd bet that they are not.

    It is worth checking with the likes of Kent/Shrick/Piper/QED/SBD etc to see if they are longer duration and higher lift cams available for the Z18XE. If there are not you are going to be stuck sadly.

    Re: standard cams .....

    thanks davey its just i have both bits sat here the z18 in the car and x20exv cams sat here was going to have a play with them didnt see the point if there wouldnt be much gain. Kent cams have this 1:
    Application : Cams - Sports Injection - Ex
    Product Code : KC-EC2001-Ex
    Quick Code : 38AC4
    Details : Price per pair of cams. For engines with hydraulic followers.
    Estimated Power Gain = 12 Bhp
    Powerband = 2000-6500rpm.
    Valve Lift (Inlet/Exhaust) = 10.16mm
    Duration (Inlet/Exhaust) = 256 Degrees
    Timing (Inlet Open/Close)/(Exhaust Open/Close) = 18/58 58/18
    Full Lift (Inlet/Exhaust) = 110/110 Degrees
    Valve Clearance = 0.00mm
    RRP : £264.00

    so the duration time on the x20 cams isnt all that far off the kent cam, its got to be around 8bhp for cost of a rocker cover gasket lol
