    2.0 8v problem

Right the engine runs ill go through the spec then tell you what it is doing:
    its a 2.0 8v turbo
    t34 turbo
megasquirt 1 v3 with wasted spark
    255 walbro pump
    pressure reg
    eco reds for now
    252 kent cam vernier pully
    fully forged bottom end

when i turn the car over to start it doesnt start stright away and now and again it stops the starter motor from turning over im trying to find out what is causing this as it cant be right im worried it could snap belt. because it turns the pully back on its self
    any advice welcome
    Thanks Neil

have you tried turning it over by hand on the bottom pulley as sounds to me like otjers said timings out and pistons could be hitting vavles hence stopping the starter motor

My standard seh engine was doing the same thing until i swopped the battery over for a new one.Old one must not have had enough cranking power every now and then so couldnt turn the engine over fully. It didnt do it every time but maybe 3 out of 5.
It hasnt done it at all since putting the new battery on.Old one was a vaux battery that still had the green light showing on the top but was afew years old.

8v engine is non interferance. The pistons cant hit the valves.

It is a power issue. Either earth, or cranking power. Unless its a whole tooth out the position of the vernier wont cause this to happen.

    Re: 2.0 8v problem

I changed the battery 2 years ago and has been charged since I had two on the go when I were setting managment and it did that with both its not out on timing unless verneir can do that its always been timed up right as in belts to teeth checked all earths because of an alternator fault 2 months ago when light come on and went brighter when reving. All starter and wires got changed as they were old. The ignition timing is run trough my mega squirt and its on coil pack
