    sick 1.4 twin port

my brother has got a 1.4 corsa c when he brought it,it had the normal noisy timing chain well he had the chain done just over a week ago and all was fine but now the car has started to rattle really badly up the top end i belive its an oil issue as it only rattles badly on idle but it stops if i raise the revs for a couple of seconds but then if i leave it to idle the rattling returns, could this be related to the timing chain or somthing else

    Oil pressure light on?

Did the mechanic change the tensioner?

Doesnt more or less everything have to be changed whats linked to the chain when its been rattling really bad? Something might of come lose and be rattling again...

it was a complete timing chain kit. tensioner, chain and all assosiated parts. the oil light doesnt come on and car has plenty of oil in it.
the only way i can compare the noise is it sounds like a red top engine with noisy lifters when it starts but rather than getting quieter it gets worse until i raise the revs

Does the oil light do the check at the start? Coz the oil pressure sensor is a comon fault on C's, so be sure its working okay.
Has the correct/decent oil been used?

    Timing might be slightly out

Yeah oil light comes on before start I'm going to drop the sump tomorrow and clean the pick up put fresh oil in it and see if that makes any difference as been told this could be the problem.also I don't think it's timing as it starts and drives fine and had been used for a week after the chain was done with no problems
