    setting up c20let

Long story but hope someone can help out here Bought a let in a corsa to use the engine in my corsa, the donor car was great but seemed to over fuel and get hot (sat near half way and some times near the 100) with normal driving, now that its in my corsa I have fitted a bigger rad and fitted standard yellows back in but the temp went straight to half way so I knocked it off thinking it must be under fueling I fitted a gauge on the rail and the fuel pressure was about 2bar ish so adjusted the cossie fpr but the max it would go to is just under 3bar. Have it missed something out or done something wrong?

    Heres the spec

    xe inlet cam at
    cossie fpr
eds phase 2 chip set (running 15psi of boost)
3'' tophat with 2.5'' boost pipes
    2.5'' stainless exhaust system

The injectors it had in were blue heres the spec

    Delphi / Lucas
    42 lb / hr. '009' Disc Injectors
Part Number Delphi 01D030B (Lucas old 5208009, Lucas New 621031)
    Static Flow Rate: 42.29 lb/hr @ 43.5PSI (300kPa) or 320gm/min
Dynamic Flow Rate: 9.96 gm/pulse - 2.5ms pulse width and 10ms repetition rate
Coil Resistance: 15.9 Ohms / High Impedance / High-Z (No ECM driver modifications required)

Did you set the fuel pressure with the vacuum hose on or off? If on your fuel pressure will be over 4 bar, set the fuel pressure to 3 with it disconnected

Take the vaccum off and set the fuel pressure again to 3.5 bar on yellow injectors for phase 2.

have you checked the usual reasons an engine overheats? e.g. temp sensor, fan, head problem? maybe its not related to the fueling.

Temp sensor looks new but might replace it to be safe and engine ran mint in the old shell apart from temp sitting near 100.

When i ran it the other day the gauge read 95 but the rad was just warm like i said has a brandnew thermostat as well

    C20LET

    Re: setting up c20let

They do tend to get a bit warm anyway, not sure 95-100 is anything to worry about tbh. Is the fan coming in/out ok?

Fuel wise i would be a bit concerned that you cn only get 3 bar max. Wit vac off its only going to rise 0.5 or so which may be a concern once its on boost if you cant get the base figure correct.

    What fuel pump you using?

assuming you have a standard stat in your running temps are fine the stat opens at 93deg, and by the time the fan has cooled the coolent and circulated it round its usually just under 100 on the dash, as above if the fan comes in you wont have anything to worry about.
