What car and engine? Also what sender and gauge, Vauxhall or aftermarket?
what are you getting when its hot? say 25min after runiing or of driving? idel shold be about 22psi, then they say its about 10psi for every 1000revs up, seems low from cold though, id be expecting 60-70psi when stone cold

well it is stone cold, its a c20let in a corsa. basically it started to sound tappetty so i fitted an aftermarket gauge and sender brand new,
i have oil at the top. but yeah goes to 30 and does sound tappetty
im too worried to drive it too get it warm, the oil pressure isnt under load, just in neutral sitting there
mine starts at 75psi and goes higher with acceleration. only when the oil has warmed up it should read about 30psi on idling. is the oil icon lit on the dashboard? also check the gauge is connected correctly or if possible use another gauge to compare results.

When It comes to motorsport its what you build not what you buy
sorted the oil pressure problem, i took the sump off to see that the oil pickup bolts had worked loose, simply loctited them back in and oil pressure shot straight up to what it should be
thanks for the help![]()
