About LinkBacksjust put a redtop with an f 16 in to a corsa and it does not drive so i took it back out and put a new clutch in and still wont drive. so im lost? could it be the gear box? any ideas?

are the cvs fully home in the diff? and not broken? as with an open diff if you break one or one pops out you will have no drive
either that or the input shaft has popped put if its the type that can be withdrawn, but i would have thought you would have noticed that when fitting the new clutch

yeah when its jacked up the wheels will turn? and when on the ground i put it in gear and the spedo works but wont move?
sounds more and more like a cv joint either busted or more likely not fully home in the box, like i say the inner is more likely, wheels will turn with it jacked up as there is no resistance to stop the diff spinning both wheels
with it on the floor, put it in gear and have a look at the driveshafts/cvs, you should be able to find it pretty quickly then

the outer cv poped off the shaft but it didnt break so i put it back on and its doing the same thing. how do i know if there in properly or not?

You should be able to see if the shafts are in all the way. Can you lift it up a axel stands, disconnect the linkage, and select a gear on the top of the gearbox, and see if it drives the wheels?

how do you mean popped off? they are held in with a circlip, if its popping off i suspect the driveshaft is too short, you will tell if the cv is fully home at the gearbox end if you just grab hold of it tbh, i doubt its anything to do with the linkageOriginally Posted by danielmac

ill try that to see if it works
i dont thing the circlip was cliped on properly i dont think its too short the inner cv looks awful squashed to me when its all together
