    c20XE / C20Let Bolts

    Quick question too all.

After sitting at the pc for a while and searching for answers I am getting confiicting results im hopin someone who has been here before can shed some light on the case.

Im rebuilding a c20xe as a c20let. block is currently being re-honed and having the oil return installed.

I have LET pistons already and am due to start the rebuild shortly, however I did have shock at the cost of the rebuild. For all intense purposes Im building a standard engine with no real plans to make it a power house ( have another motor for that fun) so the main question I have is can I reuse the existing crank, and conrod bolts or do i need to replace these. The engine is in good order and the bores at present still have the hone marks on from factory so i dont think it has done many miles at all. Also is there a way of checking to see if the oil pump is a good-un or not.

Thanks for your assistance in advance all

    Rich

You can use the same crank.

Head, conrod or main bolts should never be reused and also should consider doing them ARP.

The only test i know of for the oil pump is to check the clearance between the gears.

The big end and main bolts have to be replaced. If your on a budget GM ones are cheap enough
