vectra cdti cambelt damaged idler melted

Vectra 150 cdti, the cambelt was done at 97k by a vauxhall dealership receipt reads carry out 100,000 mile service to manufact specification car has now done 137k and the idler has collapsed/melted as a result the belt lost its tension,it didn't come off but the car stopped on idle ,what's the likely hood the valves are bent, ticking the car forward the cam wheels do move
The idler has broken down before its next cambelt change what's the likely hood I can claim of vauxhall I will pursue the matter legally if I have to

Think these break followers rather than bend valves as for claiming from Vauxhall wouldn't have thought you stood much chance if they didn't replace it.

I think you need to find out what work was done, the idlers, tensioner, cam belt and waterpump should all be done at 100k not just the cam belt because they can all fail, if they aren't changed I don't think Vauxhall will do much about it. The only thing you can do is go back to the dealer who changed the belt and ask why they didn't change them or at least recommend you have them changed and take it up with them.

What's the likely hood the valves are bent,I phoned tge dealers and they did replace everything at 97k,they have asked to bring the car and they will check for me but they are to far bedside I'd rather have an independent report
In terms. Of vauxhall paying up if they are responsible,as they did admit there is no reason why an idlers would fail before 100k then they will be paying up as I will definitely be taking legal action

Call Vauxhall customer services and ask them.
