    Nev that's where I was getting the leak, my girdle goes back on and I used black rtv sealent previously,it was that strong i could not get the girdle of even used leverage with a crowbar had to heat it slightly and even then it wasnt easy
    Hayes manual for the vectra,uses same end cap, says to use the black vauxhall rtv sealent

    You can only do your best, if it does leak when you are using the engine its quite possible to extract it and re-attempt to seal it again from under the car. If the car is on a ramp, I reckon it would be 2 or 3 hours work.

    Everyones advice sounds good to me, I reckon it must be a bit of a weak point on the engine design, or maybe some end caps just fit better than others. God knows.
