MK3 Astra Gsi phase to ecotec 2 litre replaced with 2.0xe what fuel pump is required?
As above I have a phase 2 astra gsi,2.0 ectoec originally fitted as standard, replaced with a 2.0 xe.Is the ecotec 2.0 fuel pump up for the job of flowing enough fuel for a 2.0xe?
What pump would be a good upgrade, may want to go a little bit more power wise possibly.
Any help and rough idea on prices would be great.
Many thanks.Lee.

I have a fuelling issue, took my car to my local r/road guy today as I had a missfire so i thought, but the car isn't getting enough fuel. The guy thinks it maybe my fuel pressure regulator,I have a spare so gonna try this first. How much power would max out the standard pump then?I'm making enquiries as I may have to buy a new fuel pump, what sort of price is it for the standard pump please?I take it that it's a bosch pump?
Thanks.Lee.

yes mates its a bosch, i wouldnt worry about maxing out a pump with a basicly standard XE engine anyway mate , check your fuel reg is right, its a 3 BAR for a coilpack engine and a 2.5 BAR for a dizzy

Yes I have a 2.5 bar with cream injectors as my xe is from an early 1989 gte 16v astra. The spare reg I have is a 3 bar, gonna try this to see if this cures the problem first of all.I may be thinking of upping the power with carbs or throttle bodies in the future thats why I mentioned about maxing out the standard pump.Any thoughts?
Thanks.Lee.

i wouldnt put the 3 BAR on it mate it wont help your problems, a 2.5 for the early xe's from experiance fitting a 3Bar only makes it overfuel

Yes I think I will try and get another 2.5 bar reg then as I know it will be rich at idle and when the car is cold, having said that won't the ecu adjust this?
Anyone got one spare 2.5 bar fpr by any chance?
Thanks.Lee.
