    C20xe fault codes

Ok I've flashed the codes off after my xe was running abit funny when cold, gets abit better when it's warmed up, the codes I got are 12, 71, 74, 12, engine was running while flashing the codes off, any ideas of the codes and how to sort them? I no 12 is start and finish but what are the other two?

thanks melv, looked on there after i posted on here,
71 Air Temperature Sensor (ATS) High voltage
74 Air Flow Sensor (AFS) High voltage

any ideas how i would sort these?
i did have the air flow sensor unplugged at one point when the engine was running so have disconnected the battery and going to see if codes come back tomorrow

Just remembered the air temp sensor isn't connected as the wires broke and i have a silicon pipe on it now, do you really need it as if you do that might be abit of the problem

If it wasn't needed, it wouldn't be fitted.

A bit of the problem? That is the problem, hence the car having the fault code stored.

Also, if the AFM has been disconnected and the car run, it will have remembered this.

Thought it would be the problem as car has been running abit lumpy, will get that sorted tomorrow and see what happens, only reason I didn't connect it back up was due to using the silicon

Can still be sensor trust me mate other than that will be wiring itself or the ecu. If your handy with multi meter you can check the supply voltage to the sensor with should be same as battery voltage. need to test between terminals 1 and 5 on multiplug connector goin into the sensor.

    Re: C20xe fault codes

The air temp sorted it out mostly but I noticed the wires that go to the plug for air flow were abit poor and had cracked, disconnected battery then cut the wires where they was a little broke, then added abit more wire as it was to short, connected wires up and plugged plug in, then left battery for about 15 mins to forget the codes, started it up and still showing air flow high voltage, And not running 100% anything else u can try?
