    Question Driveshalf help?

Hi, I've actually registered for a friend and will try my best to give you the information you need to help..

Mk3 Astra 1.4, gutted and striped out. Roll cage welded in. Red top 2.0 engine installed. Other work done (obviously I don't know all the details)

Main problem is drive shafts popping out. I know he's got a LSD installed but I don't know the make or anything.

Been doing a bit of online research for him trying to find out what driveshafts people are running in the high powered engines. Haven't had much luck other than trying a quaife LSD + F23 driveshafts.

However I don't know if they will fit with his installed gear. So now that I've written this I will email him with all the account details and the URL for this question and he can fill in the blanks regarding the missing information.

Suggestions welcome please guys, thanks in advance.

F23 will be cable shift and hydraulic clutch - useless on a Mk3 Astra

Using big block hubs (as per all 2.0 Mk3's) and equal length shafts from a Calibra/Cavalier is your best bet and will handle the power fine.

    Re: Driveshalf help?

The problem is, I have a 2.0 16v with F18 gearbox an a Tranax LSD
and on a hard gear change or hard take of she will bust the CV
joint in bits. I've have heard that it is possible to get the CV joints
hardend somewhere but it's expensive, is there such thing as a
Group'A CV joints? Any ideas please?

what angle are the cvs sitting at? is the car very low? does it run a lot of castor? extreme angles usually lead to premature cv failures
